The BBB Arc Flux sunglasses get the important things right. Comfortable, secure and equipped with an excellent lens, they quickly became the pair I reached for, whether for fast road rides or long days in the saddle.

Specification

The Arc Flux uses a lightweight bio-based frame with a more refined, slightly softer lens shape than many of the aggressive shield-style glasses on the market.

BBB positions them as a more elegant, lower-profile option, and in use they do feel less bulky than some of the larger, more overbuilt designs from bigger brands.

The Flux lens is a high-contrast, multi-coated design aimed at improving clarity and definition on the road or trail. BBB describes it as filtering non-essential light in specific wavelengths to sharpen what you see ahead.

In practice, it uses multiple protective layers: an anti-fog coating on the inside to reduce misting; an oleophobic outer coating to repel water, dirt and fingerprints; and an anti-scratch layer to improve durability.

They also come well equipped with both a tinted and clear lens included, plus a hard case and a soft storage bag.

Performance

The standout feature is the fit. Designed with smaller faces in mind, the Arc Flux sits securely without movement, even during harder efforts or on rougher sections of road.

The arms feature a pronounced curve that’s clearly designed for security. It’s a more aggressive hook than many glasses I’ve used, and while it looks simple, it plays a big role in how stable they feel on the face.

The arms hook in firmly and keep the glasses locked in place in a way many rivals simply don’t manage.

That security also carries through to comfort. There were no pressure points, no slipping, and no need to constantly adjust them mid-ride. They sat naturally on my face and worked well with a helmet, with no awkward interference or hot spots over longer rides.

Lens performance is also impressive. The tinted lens isn’t the darkest available, but it feels well judged for typical British conditions, coping easily with a mix of bright light, cloud cover and shaded lanes. It offers enough contrast to read changes in road surface confidently, which becomes particularly noticeable on faster or more technical sections.

In poorer conditions, they continue to perform well. Fogging wasn’t an issue during testing, even in damp or stop-start riding, and the lens stayed clear throughout without becoming a distraction.

Maintenance is also simple, with dirt and water clearing easily from the coating.

Overall, the glasses feel very composed on the bike. Nothing fussy, nothing distracting – just a very solid combination of fit, clarity and comfort that quietly gets on with the job.

Value

At £113.95, the Arc Flux sits in a competitive but realistic price bracket. They aren’t cheap, but they also don’t feel out of place alongside more established offerings from Oakley, 100% and SunGod.

In real-world use, they match those bigger brands more closely than you might expect in terms of lens clarity and all-day comfort. In some cases, particularly when it comes to fit, they actually outperform them – especially for riders who struggle with glasses that run too wide or sit too loosely.

There are of course cheaper options, such as the photochromic Van Rysel Taaien (£89.99), but they don’t offer too much adjustability for fit and lack a hard case.

Overall

The BBB Arc Flux sunglasses are a strong all-round package. The lens is clear and reliable, the build quality is solid, and they’re very easy to live with on the bike.

The real difference is the fit. For riders with smaller faces who often struggle to find glasses that stay secure, these stand out as one of the most confidence-inspiring pairs I’ve used.
