Over the past year, Specialized has been wringing every drop of electric goodness from its Levo 4 platform. First, the bike went ‘Electric Rally’ with the smaller-travelled Levo R, and then the brand boosted its travel with the Levo 4 Evo. Now, the Levo 4 has taken on some bikepacking flair with the Levo 4 X, introducing ‘Electric Overland’. Here’s everything we know.
With 150mm of rear suspension and 160mm up front, no matter how you shake it, the Levo 4 is a solid e-trail bike, and the Levo 4 X aims to build upon that foundation by adding a bunch of racks. These racks grace the Levo with up to 22kg of carrying capacity, with the front able to haul 10kg, and the rear 12kg, while benefitting from MIK 3-pin compatibility.
But the best bit is that if you’re already a proud Levo or Levo R owner, these racks can be bought aftermarket and added to your existing bike, turning it into a commuting or bikepacking powerhouse.

Elsewhere, the bike comes with everything that you would expect of a Specialized Levo 4. It dons the brand’s 3.1 motor that outputs 810W at peak power with 105Nm of torque. That’s paired with an 840Wh battery, which can then be boosted up to 1,120Wh when paired with the 280Wh range extender.
Bolted to its Fact 11m carbon frame, sorted with all of the geometry adjustments that are standard on a Levo, are a pair of mullet wheels, so that’s a 650b hoop at the rear combined with a 29-inch wheel up front. Yep, there’s also Specialized’s GENIE technology built into the shock.

The geometry is then identical to a regular Levo 4, with an S4 frame receiving a 480mm reach, a 64.5-degree head tube angle, a 77-degree seat tube angle and a 435mm chainstay. So yes, the Levo 4 X is really a Levo 4 with racks.
While the racks are available aftermarket, they come as part of one full build, the S-Works Levo 4 X, which will set you back an eye-watering £12,499. For that price, you’ll be getting a Fox 38 Factory GRIP2 fork, a Fox Float X Factory GENIE shock, and SRAM’s XX Eagle T-Type AXS drivetrain.
If it’s just the racks you’re after, the Levo X Front Rack will set you back £169, while the Levo X Rear Range costs £339.

That knife out the back looks pretty safe
It would help if they turned the lights on before taking the photos.
@lesterama Not to mention illegal in the UK, even if one has a valid reason for carrying it (“just in case I need it” is not regarded as a valid reason, there must be a specific use case, e.g. on the way to a tree-trimming job) it should be dismantled or folded and inside a protective case, not on open view like that.
@lesterama It’s not a knife – it’s a pruning saw.
[Hmm – site ate my pedantry tags]
