Giant Defy 2

Giant defy 2

I'm 13 years old and I was wondering if I could get people's opinions on the giant defy2 roadbike it will be my first road bike and it's go in to cost 700 so please large your opionions

Just in: Giant Defy 2

Aluminium compact that on paper looks to deliver plenty of bangs per buck

Giant Defy 2 - wheel and tyre

25mm Kenda Kriterium tyres (not familiar with them, but we soon will be) on Mavic CXP 22 rims - custom made for Giant

Giant Defy 2 - transmission

Full Shimano Tiagra transmission - 50-34 compact double chainset matched up to a 12-25 rear cassete - pretty much the entire groupset is Shimano Tiagra. As ever Giant are extremely competitive when it comes to speccing a bike

Giant Defy 2 - stem and spacers

A generous stack of spacers and a flipable stem make for a highly tuneable position - if you want to get lower - you can

Giant Defy 2 - seatpost

Giant carbon post is a nice touch for the money, and given the amount of seatpost the Defy 2's full-on compact geometry exposes should make for a comfy ride

Giant Defy 2 - rear mech

Shimano Tiagra nine speed rear mech - may not be the fanciest piece of kit, but it will do the job

Giant Defy 2 - rear end

The Defy 2's smalle rear triangle translates into a super-tight, stiff  back end which should make for an extremely responsive and nimble ride

Giant Defy 2 - rear dropout

Tidy rear dropouts - note the very round tube profile of the seatstays

Giant Defy 2 - rear brake

Stopping courtesy of the Shimano Tiagra brakes - frame clearance for mudguards courtesy of Giant. Those straight seat stays should make for a stiffer back end
