Chris Froome's Sidi Wire Carbon shoes available in the UK soon

Want the same Sidi shoes as Chris Froome? Well now you can buy them

If you've been keenly waiting for the chance to buy the very same Sidi shoes that Chris Froome races in, now is your chance: the first pair has just landed with distributor Saddleback. It proudly shared this photo on Instagram earlier this morning.

The first set of @sidisport @chrisfroome Wire Carbon shoes to arrive in the UK (apart from Froomey's own pairs)!

The shoes favoured by Tour de France winner Chris Froome are Sidi's Wire Carbon model. They're the Italian company's top-of-the-range shoe model with a £300 price tag. Froome's shoes are the same as those regular shoes, just finished in the same light blue colour that he raced in all last season. They'll be available late January 2016.

- Review: Sidi Wire Carbon Air Vernice

What you get is a shoe with a stiff and light carbon fibre sole with a Microfibre Performa Tech Pro upper and Sidi's own Techno-3 system, comprising two dials, along with a larger ratchet strap at the top. Chris can tailor the fit of the shoes further with an adjustable heel retention device, and the heel pads are replaceable should he wear them out. Though we doubt he walks very far in his shoes.

They're not yellow, of course. Froome has been gifted yellow shoes by Sidi in the past, and they've even been put up for sale as well. Though you'd need some confidence to carry them off.

He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well. I think these could look nice in a subtler colour.

Are heat-mouldable insoles still a thing? A couple of years ago everyone was popping their shoes in the oven but now you just don't hear about it.
