According to the definitive road.cc poll a couple of months ago our favourite grand tour is the Giro. So let’s not get too excited. But… Allez! Allez!

Among other things, I’m looking forward to the following.

• Grips on jerseys being tightened (but never loosened)
• The Tour may not be won on the slopes of [insert super-steep climb here] but it could easily be lost
• Every stage winner being super-happy after a ride that was super-hard but their team was super-strong

After any of these I have to down an energy gel and go for a ride. Merveilleux!
