HELP, totally lost if I should buy new or second hand

Hi All, Head is spining looking at different bikes. Not sure if I should buy new or second hand. Im 6'4 and had a Specialized Allez, which was great for what I needed it for. New bike would mainly be for the weekends cira.50-100k and the and a trip away which would be 4 days of cycling. Have a budget of around £1500 Understand its subjective but any advice would be great.
