Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

Police dogs at car crashes –

Police dogs at car crashes – the next new RCC thread!  “What’s that, Lassie? He’s legged it to his mate’s house?”

I especially like the way these people leave their ?girlfriend? injured enough to need hospital. The rest of us don’t stand much chance then.

Ever more motorised mayhem for the grown-ups in life to deal with. Still, a reminder to cyclists not to venture out after dark, wear a helmet and pay road tax.

Okay, I know this is for cars

Okay, I know this is for cars and buildings, but I do like a good car/field mashup.

A vehicle crashed off the M5 this morning and ended up in a field: https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/local-news/driver-flees-after-crashing-car-5447296

(Admittedly the headline is written far more accurately: Driver ‘flees’ after crashing car off M5 into field near Bristol ‘leaving passenger behind’)

Also including this pic as it features a dog:

    An archway that could have

An archway that could have impeded a fire engine?? Tear it down, rip it out!  Adding insult to injury, a vehicle has had to get SMALLER – hello, newsflash, we’re all getting bigger.
Next, you’ll be telling me that every housing area built in the last 50 years is a de facto LTN.

    Those autonomous vehicles are

Those autonomous vehicles are up to no good again – I’m glad to see the trapped occupants managed to escape from the evil robotic vehicle, thought the article puts it as they ‘absconded’. At least it was only an ambulance station and nothing important.

And it seems a gift that keeps on giving.

    It’s getting seriously ugly

It’s getting seriously ugly and vindictive now in the Daily Echo. It’s dreadful that we seem to still be ruled by the noisy minority.
If it wasn’t putting lives at risk, I’d say “fine, go ahead, take out all the active travel infra – then when it’s still motorised gridlock, we’ll all have a good laugh at how stupid you all are”.
You can hear the car culture from the lengths of journeys commenters describe.

A grade II listed bridge in Malmesbury?

What we need to do is to update all these old buildings and bridges to make them safe. It’s a blight upon our country that we have all these non-hi-viz buildings and structures lying around that were thoughtlessly built without considering our modern motorist.

    Blimey, the comments get very

Blimey, the comments get very racist.

But getting back to the hinderance to emergency services, I thought it was cyclists, cyclist infrastructure and LTNs that stopped them on “shouts”

Could never be the “otherwise” law abiding motorists…

say whaaat!  “Deputy Chief Fire Officer Steve Apter said: “Motorists blocking the paths of emergency services vehicles is worse than ever before.”

Fire chiefs say the number of incidents where motorists hinder emergency service vehicles with erratic driving and poor parking is worse than ever before.

They add that these motorists are putting lives at risk by blocking off roads and even stopping on box junctions outside fire stations.”

    Ploughed into a building, at

Ploughed into a building, at last, some realistic language.

Though of course it was the car that did it, nothing about the driver.
