Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

It’s bad enough cycling it, I
It’s bad enough cycling it, I wouldnt walk on that road, or under the bridge, it’s like the road runs parallel to the railway line and then right angles to pass under it both sides, so theres no sight line of whats within the confines of the under bridge bit, and because people are still in A14 driving mode or preparing to join A14, they tend to go in quickly and drift out of their lane.

It is only the footpath that

It is only the footpath that is closed to pedestrians, they still have the right to walk on the roadway, perhaps some locals would like to go for a walk backwards and forwards under the bridge until someone realises how stupid it was to close the footpath!

Multiple people injured after New York City cab jumps curb and plows over pedestrians

At least five people were injured when a New York City taxi cab jumped a curb and ran over a group of pedestrians walking through Midtown Manhattan on Monday afternoon.

The yellow taxi reportedly collided with an SUV while traveling southbound on Broadway when it drove over the curb. The car plowed over at least five people before it hit the side of a building, according to ABC7.

(four paragraphs later, the first mention of)

The cab driver, who stayed at the scene as authorities arrived, also had non life-threatening injuries from the collision.

Such a strange decision, plenty of space for two groups to use this space safely.

Group a (pedestrians prove to have no problems with the infrastructure.

Group B (drivers) prove unable to drive through ample space, causing damage and putting the other group at risk.

Why are pedestrians banned from this facility instead of drivers? After all drivers can travel to the next crossing in much less time.

but Id have been tempted to

but Id have been tempted to stick temporary barriers down the middle of the road to provide a safe route for pedestrians, with some temporary traffic lights, and thus give the crazy motorists who keep hitting the bridge the option of one lane only to get through, as maybe it will teach them to be more careful.

and I thought theyd fixed this bridge by putting a gigantic metal beam ahead of the bridge so you hit that instead, how are people still crashing into bits of it ?

    Well, it needs repairs !!
    Well, it needs repairs !!
Plus the risk of ksi looks a bit high.
Hopefully the new barriers will protect Peds whilst making sure a car is a write off.

    So because drivers

So because drivers (consistently) can’t look where they’re going, the pedestrian path gets closed??
