Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

Bristol bus smashes into house after being hit by car: https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/bristol-bus-smashes-house-after-7937671

I don’t know why, but the car driver fled the scene on foot after the car collided with the double-decker.

What I find more puzzling is that there was a bus in Bristol that could be hit – I thought they’d gone extinct.

    I don’t doubt no. 7 is on

I don’t doubt no. 7 is on there – it’s a dastardly 7′ bridge, single narrow lane, signal controlled and funneled in by downhill stretches from both sides. It’s probably not higher because Berkswell is a properly sleepy village.

I quite like the idea of that

I quite like the idea of that. As it will demonstrate the efficacy of these articles of polystyrene when they seen crushed into oblivion and a hole still punched into the side of the building.

Good thought – I’ve often wondered why cars don’t have ship propellors festooned around their sides to return the favour.  Presumably using bike tyres or even helmets would look too much like … trophy-taking?

    As ktache says. Electric

As ktache says. Electric vehicles accelerate really quickly and if you’re not used the it they can catch you out. I’m figuring that the driver has pulled out of Park Wynd and buried themselves in the building.

That’s a difficult one to understand – the streets round about are all narrow and many are restricted access through the campus.

And a bit close to home: my daughter has classes in that building. Perhaps fortunately, at this time of year most students are revising or doing coursework rather than lectures.
