    So stage 20 is underway

    This is my team

    Froome
    Kreuziger
    Qunitana
    Nieve
    Rolland
    Riblon
    El Fares
    Mederel
    Fischer

Well at the moment it seems I was right to keep Rolland, and Riblon for De Clerq could pay off if the chasers catch the front 4 and the peloton let them go.

I’ve only watched the ITV coverage but I have started to get seriously annoyed with the number of mistakes made by Sherwin and Liggett.

The best coverage all Tour was the first hour or so on Friday when Boardman and Imlach were commentating with some input from Matt Rendell whilst Liggett and Sherwin were still in bed. Informed, interesting and correct, what more could you want. In fact I remember Boardman’s commentary at the Olympics being very good despite the shocking production of the road race.

For the cycling coverage to improve someone else needs to take it on. I remember the huge improvement in the F1 coverage when the BBC took it back from ITV and whilst I don’t have Sky their production has always been good. I think ITV and Eurosport have stagnated and they need some serious competition.

    Liggett and Sherwin or Kirby
Liggett and Sherwin or Kirby and Kelly…..All four are embarrassingly useless…
Unless they are looking at different pictures than us, which I doubt, there is no excuse for their constant mistakes…
If cycling is going to expand as a TV sport, the broadcasting needs serious work…and the dead wood showing through the door…
I have to admit 3 years ago when I watched my first Tour from start to finish, I found Carlton Kirby somewhat informative and entertaining.. problem with him now is that he says the same things every single day…
Oh and by the way his favourite kit in the peloton is that of Belkin, he has mentioned it 28 times in 3 weeks… Rant over…

Getting annoyed with liggett and Sherwen, they keep saying quintana attacked too early in the pyrenees but at that stage he was clearly working for valverde. And liggett at one stage thought porte was lopez, even though he was ahead of kreuziger. Maybe I need to offer my services – can’t be any worse!

You’d have probably known the difference between Irizar and Bakelants on stage 2…..plus the amount of times they’ve got Contador mixed up with Kreuziger or Valverde is perhaps even worse bearing in mind that Contador is one of the biggest stars in cycling with perhaps THE most recognisable climbing styles!!

Say what you like about football but it’s commentators would never mix up Messi and Ronaldo.

Froome is expensive for his 14 points (that’s all he’ll score). For 40 credits you get Sagan, or you get Greipel and credits to upgrade a cheap rider.

Drop Froome and Quintana and you can automatically afford Cavendish and Kittel. That’s possibly a max of 65 points plus standings and you’ve lost 33 so a 32ish point boost. If Cav and Kittel get 3 & 4 instead of 1 & 2 then that’s at least 47 points and still an extra 14 over Froome/Quintana.

For me its all about balance, I had 6 transfers and used them all although had to leave in Bonnet, could have used another but c’est la vie.

The winner of tomorrows stage though will end up having the break rider for the extra 20 points at the intermediate sprint. Unfortunately that’s just luck.

Voigt would have the MO for that break man though?

    With 8 transfers left, I’d
With 8 transfers left, I’d get rid of the GC guys, there is a good chance that if you pick the 4 obvious sprinters, they will be in the top 6, meaning you will make more points that Quintana on his own, because of the intermediate sprint. They will go for it 😉

I think the sprinters will get a lot of Intermediate points tomorrow as well.

My decisions made and I’m bringing 6 sprinters in, 2 3credit riders plus 1 cheap guy for a team mate bonus!

Boom or bust but I think I’ll still have a top 3 place regardless

    Load with sprinters?

Froome guaranteed 14, Quintana has 19 so would need to pick the top 6.

rcorbin, you’ve been playing incredibly well! but I think we both know you probably can’t make up the 70 points 🙁 Barring a crash or some unfortunate incident! … Your choices? Well! Are you defending your spot? Then keep Froome… Want to get as close as possible for the glory? Drop (!) Froome! I’m saying this and I haven’t checked to see how many points are between you and 3rd, though, if it’s too (!) close, well, you might as well drop Froome regardlesss! 🙂

I’ve kept Quintana, dropped Froome. I’ve not picked Sagan though and have put in some of the cheaper sprinters in the hope it gives me a slight edge.
