    Hello,

Following on from the success for the Giro game I'll be running another one for the Tour starting in a couple of weeks.

    The rules are unchanged:

1 – Pick three riders from the startlist who are French and ensure that your three riders cost a combined 50 credits or less.
2 – Only riders finishing the race count towards your points total.  If one of your riders abandons mid-race (even during the last stage) then their points won't count towards your total.
3 – There are no restrictions on picking more than one rider from a particular team, if you want to pick three riders from FDJ feel free.
4 – Highest combined total wins, if one or more players get the same combined score then the winner will be chosen by a coin toss/random number generator or similar impartial method
    5 – Deadline for entires is 9am (BST) Saturday 29 June 2013.

Feel free to discuss riders/combinations etc but please try and make your submissions final where possible.  The rosters will likely change significantly between now and the start of the race so don't jump the gun when submitting your team!

He tried, did you see him come down today? He had already broken it on a warm up round the route, went to hospital, came back, did most of the TT then crashed badly near the end

All in all his day mirrored my tour!!

Too little too late I think
Too little too late I think from Rolland. Although I still can,t believe I’m the only one that picked him.

    Yep.

Scores for this won’t be updated now until after Sunday. The spreadsheet is on my work computer and I’m off for a few days.

    Did Bonnet roll in last
Did Bonnet roll in last today? Get the feeling he’s my best chance for points now. A couple of Alpine lanterne rouges may pull me up to Ghedebrav ahead of the Champs Élysées sprint

    Jeannesson finally got some
Jeannesson finally got some points. That should take me up what’s left of the table after Pinot’s demise. Can I win it again with other people dropping out!

    Chava’s been a very helpful,
Chava’s been a very helpful, even yesterday getting quite a few points.

Kadri might get something from the break today, and then maybe scraps from Chavanel in the TT but after that it’s basically zero points for a while – though I suppose early breakaways are an outside possibility on both 18 and 20.

Still, very happy to have led so far… :B

    Still hanging on to
Still hanging on to Ghedebrav’s coat-tails.

I still harbour hopes for Chavanel in the TT and Dumoulin in the medium mountain stages.

Can Rolland really hack it in the high mountains this year? He didn’t impress on the Ventoux.

It was much harder to pick
It was much harder to pick than the Giro, as the French don’t have a Nibali, as even if he hadn’t won the Giro he still would have been there or there abouts.

The Vuelta could be interesting, is Sammy the only Spanish GC contender not to race the tour 😕

A few people have been burned
A few people have been burned by Pinot, Bouhanni and Voeckler. Philip Unwin is the only one to have picked Rolland so is in the driving seat really because Ghedebrav’s team of Chavanel, Kadri & Cousin shouldn’t now score as highly.

My team of Pinot, Bardet and Bonnet has been so-so. If Pinot had been in any kind of form I might have stood a change but c’est la vie.

Think I got it wrong, I thought the idea was to try and score as little as possible 😉
