    To be honest only stage 2(in its original format) and stage 7 I’d see as proper mountain stages……the others i reckon classics ‘tough guys’?

    Its worth considering but probably by working back from the team you want in the hills to work out how many transfers you can make and therefore how many TTers you want.

    Either that or pick climbers who can TT like Van Garderen or Kelderman.

    So whats up with this 8km time trial? is it worth worrying about it too much when selecting your team, as the rest of the stages after are all mountain ones.
