The Pantani monument marks the spot where Italian rider attacked in the rain to secure victory in the 1998 Tour de France.

    Perhaps, but a different Italian. One riding for a French team, aiming for a win on French soil: Pozzovivo. Or…a former team mate and friend of Pantani: Garzelli.
