Whilst we still have the Vuelta to look forward to and the Worlds, pro teams must be eyeing up likely candidates for new signings.

    Cav to OPQ ?

Nibali to Astana and Roche to Saxo bank so far.

How about Sky swapping Cav for Boonen ? Plus i think they need another GC rider to go with Wiggo, Froome and possibly Uran.

    What do you reckon ?????????????

No-one is going to jump at
No-one is going to jump at Basso, He’s over the hill and past it, even as a DS

Sagan would be a huge one for any team…..but I think I know where he’s heading 😉 😉

    Even if Cannondale come in
Even if Cannondale come in and support Liquigas fully they’ll have no riders left!

Surely the big question is where will Sagan, Viviani and Basso end up? Every other big name they have seems to have sorted themselves a transfer, those three are the only ones I haven’t seen touted around yet.

    Another two leaving
    Another two leaving Liquigas

Capecchi and Szmyd to Movistar (i’ve added it to my list above)

    http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/12613/Eros-Capecchi-and-Sylwester-Szmyd-quit-Liquigas-Cannondale-for-Movistar.aspx

If you read the bottom of that article, there will be NO Liquigas next year as they are pulling their sponsorship……So who’s going to come in or will Cannondale continue on their own?

    Pretty sure Lofkvist won’t be
Pretty sure Lofkvist won’t be at Sky next year.

Can’t see the Schleck’s joining a team where they wouldn’t be top dogs, a move to a new team might be the best they can hope for, or a cut price move to one of the teams without massive GC ambitions.

Agree with Raleigh, Wiggins and Froome are top dogs for at least the next couple of years, then Froome +1 depending on how Uran and Henao come through. Alot probably depends on what Wiggins’ career ambitions are now, whether he wants to win multiple TdF’s(difficult), multiple Grand Tours (potentially less difficult), win some classics (possible) or go back and break the hour record/win gold at Rio on the track.

Probably only Wiggins and Brailsford really know the answer to this so it’s difficult to speculate just what Sky’s plans are for the next few years.

    No.

    No.

Either one would want a tilt at the tour, depriving dear Bradley or Friendly Froome.

    Bad move.

Or they could try and fill the three GT podiums.

    That would be quite funny.

Henao, Uran and Porte on Giro

Froome, Wiggins and SCHLECK on Tour

Froome, Sivstov and Lofkvist on Vuelta.

    😐

This wouldn’t be the first time this had been acheived of course, Mehdi Sohrabi having done so for three years between 2004 and 2006.

What about A Schleck to Sky
What about A Schleck to Sky 😕

If anyone can make him a better TT rider the Sky set up can. He would be free from Frank and possibly have Voigt with him.

Aye, Cav and Boonen on one
Aye, Cav and Boonen on one teams seems like a recipe for trouble given that Cav has previously said he wants more classic wins.

How about Boonen to BMC? They seems to pick up whoever has had a good classics season that year, pay them loads of money then watch them do absolutely nothing. All Boonen needs to guarantee an offer from BMC is to win the World Championships.

Surely what OPQ need more than another sprinter is a serious GC contender? Martin, Leipheimer, the Velits brothers and the rest are not top level, they need someone who’ll at least threaten to get into the top 10 at the grand tours.

Yeah, because the Boon wouldn’t be content with just doing leadouts.

    And Cav needs OMPQS.

    Tony Martin would be quite
Tony Martin would be quite good in the SKY.

They definitely need new classics riders, Cancellara?

    (no way)

    But Hushovd?

    Probably not.

    Ballan?

    Dan Martin?

    Both unlikely.

    Perhaps the Poz?

    Along with Thibaut Pinot and
Along with Thibaut Pinot and Tejay Van Garderen?

That’d sort the GC side of things out for sure…..not that I don’t think Sky already have enough of those(we’re already discussing people not getting enough chances).

I’ve read before that Sky and
I’ve read before that Sky and Thomas both feel he’s a better classics rider than Grand Tour condender but you never know, that’s what everyone said about Wiggins a few years ago.

Also, if I had a wish list of riders I’d like Sky to sign, Thomas De Gendt would be on there.
