Hello you lovely bunch. Just dropping in because i have found some wifi so got my tablet going.

I’m playing as a purist this tour as i wont have regular access to change my team or even see highlights.

So my question is, If there is a nice prize for purist winner overall in the TdF, do the same rules as the BMC bike for overall winner apply? I.e. You have to be a paid up player?

Just thought i’d check. I know there is a long way to go, but after looking at the table, there are only a few of us playing purist, so chances are better đŸ˜‰

    Classics last year was no
Classics last year was no transfers, grand tours have always been no transfers (which makes sense as step-hent said as your squad is your squad, end to end) as have any one week races.

This year two unlimited transfer windows were added into the classics (as opposed to the ‘6 transfers’ transfer windows) because there isn’t the same requirement in the classics for pro teams to run a single set of 9 riders and it’s nigh on impossible to know who’s riding the last few races before the first (MSR) even starts.

wouldnt be very pure if you could, would it? The teams themselves don’t get to bring in fresh riders on rest days…

Purists were allowed to make transfers in ‘unlimited’ windows during the classics, though, because they don’t class as one race in the real world. Perhaps that’s what people were thinking of.

Gkam, he’s referring to rest days – not the period between grand tours.

Thats what Gkam is referring too as well, you used to be able to be change on rest days for purists

    Folks, i’m not saying
Folks, i’m not saying anything about expensive prizes. The question was aimed for the game admins like Dave. Just so i knew whether to make sure i got some internet time when its rest day, so i could plan my attack for the rest of the tour. đŸ‘¿

London, on the first page of purist, i only saw around 10 red P’s. So not sure. But low numbers.

    Didn’t someone win a
Didn’t someone win a single-speed bike last year as a purist prize for one of the grand tours?

The vibe I’ve been getting is that purist prizes vary quite a bit and are based on what happens to be available at the time. I wouldn’t expect a pricey road bike, but based on some of the spot prizes we’ve seen on offer, the top purist could take home something pretty nice.

And I think, like the spot prizes, you are still eligible even as a non-premium user. The way I read it, players of the free game are only excluded from taking home the grand tour grand prizes (i.e. those three sexay road bikes.)

    Gkam,
    I don’t think there

    Gkam,

I don’t think there will be a bike on offer as purist prize. I’m sure Dave will arrange something quite nice but not the bike!

How many do you reckon are playing Purist then?
