Thanks Andy.

Thanks Andy.I had to ring you as I looked even more of nutter looking at peoples feet lol.
Checked out the pics in cycling weekly this wk. Bit disappointing really, I think they could have given it a bit more profile. It looks empty in terms.of footfall which wasn’t the case IMHO.

Was nice meeting you also SD
Was nice meeting you also SD (just realised that’s also your initials – d’uh) – thanks for the comedy ‘What do you look like? while standing 6 feet way from me on your mobile ‘ moment đŸ™‚I too thought it was excellent, with just enough bike porn on show specifically targeted at road users. Interesting to note just how many sports nutrition stands there were.
I’ve been to Earls Court and Docklands shows but found that everyone at Sandown was so much more approachable, including Matt, Alex and Christian. Had a good long chinwag with the guys from Chicken Cycle Kit, Beet It, Zico, Gatorade, British Cycling and i-Ride – was great to have a go on the De Rosa R838 and the chap there put no pressure on me, merely suggested that if I liked it to check out anyone who stocks it – made it sound like he was a true enthusiast, rather than a salesman.
My buddy also had a go on the R838, having recently bought a Canyon CF9 and said he’d have gone Italian if he hadn’t already bought the Canyon (and he loves it)
Shame you didn’t have a mag handy – I’d have signed it for you, and you could’ve got a scribble from Ade on the British Cycling stand who shares the article with me and others from Team Cake Cycling. She was there all weekend and said that Sunday was a fab day also, especially impressed with Ned Boulting and Alex Dowsett.
The Sandown Sportive seemed very popular also – what a great idea. UKCE run the best events I go to.
Definitely go again next year, if only to top up on Beet It

Thanks for posting SD.
Well
Thanks for posting SD.Well it was the first one I suppose. As per the other thread, it would be nice if Canyon could have exhibited – that could have settled the debate!

OK, as requested on another thread – here is a brief overview of the show.First up apologies for no pics – I left the camera at home by mistake! Doh!
Anyway, Super Mario opened the show at 9.30 as promised.
Other riders there were Alex Dowsett, Christian Knees and Matt Hayman of Sky. Special thanks to Matt for taking time out to talk to my son.
The highlights for me personally:
The Pinarello/Sigma Sport stand – although I am a tad biased as I was drooling over the possible purchase of a Pinarello but also as Sigma stock Spesh having a good chat there about my other contender.De Rosa stand was also adorned with some nice kit and guy I spoke to from there was a top bloke too.
Another great stand was the Cycling Weekly ‘super bikes’ stand with pro level bikes everywhere from the likes of Trek (including the new Domane) Wilier, Spesh, Pinarello, LaPierre, BMC, De Rosa, etc
The downsides:
It was a bit smaller than I thought it would be (although fine for the entry price imho). Many of the listed ‘bikes’ at the show literally were just 1 and l;ocked up on the ‘super bikes’ stand rather than those makes actually being at the show.
Having to leave earlier than planned (ie missing the race in the afternoon) as my father felt unwell.
Would I go again? Certainly.
Also, as mentioned above – nice to meet Andy who stars in this month’s Cycling Active as I onyl found out today while flicking through the copy my Dad bought at the show!

Nice meeting you Andy. Not a bad show, although I hoped it would be a bit bigger / more bike companies.
Left me edging towards the Pinarello but still with Spesh looming on the shoulder tbh.

It’s true. I would love to know what will be there on display and for demo. I have a lack of carbon in my life right now đŸ˜€The site also has the seminars listed, although not the one on set up which caught my eye originally.

Notice Big Mario is opening
Notice Big Mario is opening the show on Saturday morning. Also notice there’s a distinct lack of info about who the exhibitors are going to be, despite me pestering for info – I have a BarclayCard with enough brownie point for a new bike, yet cannot get excited at the thought of anything other than Halfords being there, although have learnt (through the Cipollini tweet earlier) that Paligap are going to be there, but MCipollini bikes are out of my meagre league
