    Hi All,
    I have a Specialized S Works Tarmac SL frame, yep the older original, non-zerted puppy (some say the ‘real one’) and over the years its got to look a little dated and chipped. However, over the break I decided (rightly or wrongly) to completely strip the frame back to bare carbon – one hell of a job and not completely finished yet. I am reasonably ‘handy’ with a spray gun but am totally undecided what to do with it, colour-wise. I thought about going about putting it back to original but can’t get all the decalling. There are decals etc on ebay I know, but it would always look like ‘make believe’.
    Any suggestions for its re-paint? All suggestions appreciated (except for pink). May even have a go at air brushings like early Colnagos – semi matt black anyone???

    You can also to it in two levels..

    You spray one layer in matte grey.. And then cut out some masking tape with some text (I suggest printing out the text you want on paper, then cut out the masking tape from the print on the paper) and then cover the whole thing in matte black. Would get the same effect as you see on the bike above 🙂 could be cool!

    Not that I want to ‘copy’ such a fine specimen but I could replicate the black for sure – is this what’s being suggested? I really like it though.

    Its nice because it really brings out the subtle curvature of the frame 🙂
