    About to open this up!

15 races included with Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne and De Brabantse Pijl the only non WT events and Eschborn-Frankfurt back in. Accurate details are included up to Strade Bianche and the others will be updated in due course. We’ll have to keep an eye on the Italian coronavirus situation as well as the two big races there might be affected. So hold on to transfers for those until we know more.

On second thought, maybe MVDP should have been more expensive.

Nah. He’ll be 37.0 for the next ten years…give us this one season of joy…

    Maybe. The perception of risk
Maybe. The perception of risk may be very different between May and July. I am not sure anybody really knows where we will be in a few weeks or months.

    Oh my days….

    Oh my days….

    WVA at 31.6

    MVDP at 9.3

Crikey….funny how these things go sometimes.

Both Yates brothers make it a goal.  Carapaz added to the INEOS team etc.

That would be great… really great…sadly…Northern Italy and France are uncomfortably close. I fear if one had to go it will be a big call to keep the other…in fact too big a call. Just by cancelling one they will have acknowledged the risk in Central Europe….so they’d be in a very difficult position with the other one.

Postponing’s always an option, especially with a race like Milano-Sanremo. Delaying a stage race is another matter. Interested to see what they decide.

Yeah…a one day race can just as easily be raced in the autumn as spring, even a small stage race might be doable…but a whole grand tour with the amount of planning involved would be a nightmare I suppose.

Too early to tell, the races most under threat of cancellation right now are Tirreno and Milano-Sanremo. After that it’s possible the Giro, Strade Bianche and Il Lombardia could go, depending on how fast this thing can be resolved. The UCI might look to postpone some, others might just be outright cancelled.

I can’t imagine it’d be easy to put on a bike race at short notice, so I’d predict there won’t be replacements if events are cancelled.

Just been announced….another case of coronavirus close to the finish of Milan San Remo in a hotel. Surely that’s more or less sealed it’s fate.

Maybe they could look at moving some races to the back end of the year possibly. Could that work?…

No, there are too many major startlist changes and the competition is too varied for a purist competition. It works much better as just a standard.

With Terrino and the Giro looking doubtful do you think the UCI will cobble together alternatives?…Gonna leave a giant sized hole in some seasons for riders and teams. Indeed even the Olympics looking doubtful, and that was attracting a good line up, I doubt many will want to hang their hat on it now.

What about Le Samyn? That’s a spring classic and a start list is easily available.

There are nine teams competing who are below Pro level. They would all need to be updated and rider values would need to be redone, which can’t be done after the competition has been opened.

Aye, good race as well Gkam …might be a good idea to have a reserve list of races this year anyway due to possible cancellations. Is that possible, Andy?
