I’m a white male. I’ve been yelled at by a driver instructor and had some sort of hand gesture from a lovely looking female driver the last two days.
I figured it because I dropped it back a few cogs and launched it in front of the next multiple lane wave of traffic on the express way. Must have looked good at it. 🙂
Women look even better. Congratulations. I love the wet of sweat too

That’s not a good article at all… just a feminist rant based on a 2015 study which it takes at face value and doesn’t even try to critique.

Why a “feminist” rant? It’s her point of view based on her own experience, her discussions with other female and male cyclists, and a reference to a published article.

Regardless of the basis for it, an article implying something negative about men is a “feminist rant”. In that vein, I’d characterise your opinion as mysoginistic bullshit.

Does that not contradict the research into close passing from a few years back?

(I only skimmed the article, this is the internet so I never like to wade into a discussion with all the information)

In what way was it a “feminist rant”?  I thought it made some good points.

(Disclaimer: I’m a cis white male).

    You’re a STRAIGHT WHITE MALE?

Your opinion is automatically racist and invalid. Check your privilege and pay reparations.

    Hmm

And perhaps you need to go find yourself the next Jordan Peterson book-signing, so you can be back among friends.

(PS – you do know that “cis” doesn’t actually mean “straight”?  It means someone who self-identifies with the same gender as their body appearance, which is itself the same gender with which they were born).

    I would mention aggressive
I would mention aggressive female drivers of large 4x4s but I dare not as a middle aged man for risk of being accused of gender stereotyping.

It seems to be written from

It seems to be written from her experience and those with whom she has talked to.

We may get abuse, talking as a middle aged male cyclist, but we can never hope to understand the levels of abuse that many women are subjected to in life, let alone whilst riding a bike.
