Best Strava segment name

So I was cruising past Old Trafford just singing/humming/mumbling to myself a classic Smith track Reel Around the Fountain:

Then I realized this should be a name for a great Strava segment. Very appropriate for Manchester. But where would the fountain be to set a lap around? Sadly there isn’t one. This is a great segment name without a route.

I’ve seen most people are not very original or distinctive with their segment names, and he who creates chooses the name. Most are Road A to Road B, or Loop around town X. What are some of the best segment names you have found or created?

My best so far: An Irksome Climb, (pun intended)

I’m quite fond of ‘Retard Alley’ on the A6 between Little Hulton and Walkden. Extremely accurate description.

I like “Zainab Badawi’s Twenty Hotels” although the cultural significance/relevance to the piece of road is lost on me.

A small climb past the sewerage works near Prestbury in Cheshire, in prime footballers wives and tv millionaire country, is called “Climb Past the Posh Poo Works”. I like that one.

Most segments I’ve seen are what you might term ‘boring’ i.e. they describe the segment, which I’d say is rather useful. Unfortunately the ones I notice are the many that have crap spelling.

In a  wealthy country with an infrastructure and education system that is the envy of many it seems that vast numbers of people can’t spell properly and want to make the rest of the world aware of this fact.

And don’t get me started on the idiots who put ‘curb’ when they mean ‘kerb’ or ‘should of’ instead of ‘should have’.   no

You should of kerbed your expectations.

    As you go round Wandsworth

As you go round Wandsworth one-way system there’s a segment called Gunning it on Armoury Way but whoever named the segment has rather ruined the title by adding “geddit?!” in brackets afterwards.

Have come across quite a few
Have come across quite a few witty ones before, but cant seem to recall any of them right now… What does stick in ny mind is the number of stupidly named segments along the lines of “last bit before home”. Do these people not realise that not all cyclists in the world live in their house?! đŸ™‚

We have a local segment named ‘Cow poo corner to Otford Lane’, near Westerham in Kent. It’s description is pretty much spot on unfortunately…

I quite enjoy ‘Faster than Metrolink’ in Prestwich, and have to wonder if Metrolink was having a bad day when it was named. ‘Then there is flat’ is also quite motivating.
