I did it!

I know that none of you know me but I needed to tell someone.

Today I rode on the road for the first time since being hit in July, 7 months ago I was barely able to walk and couldn’t function without morphine following my spinal fusion.

Since then I’ve had a lot of time to think about the accident and as I’ve recovered I’ve been scared about getting back on the road. After a couple of run outs on a converted old railway line I finally got the guts to go out today.

It might be only 8 miles, and I had to stop on every hill as my fitness level is 0, and it was hailing and blowing a gale. But it was the most gloriest 8 miles I’ve ever done.

    I feel amazing now <:P

Didn’t managed to get out yesterday but managed a ride today added more miles and more hills.

The aim this year is to focus on more hilly rides as thats where I needed to improve last year.

Thanks everyone, looking forward to getting out tomorrow morning. aiming to do a little more as well.

Anyone going through the same good luck in getting back and remember that it was just one moment in a life time of moments that caused the injury, the likelihood of it happening again is very small.

Congratulations, well done with your recovery =D> . I am in the same situation with a serious injury that will need many months to recover hopefully not too many. My ultimate target like yours is to be able to complete a century back end of this season or early next year.

    Well done you!

It’s never easy getting back on after an incident, but now you have, you’ll be a stronger person than the one before.

Getting the fitness back is painful though. It can also be a huge amount of fun!
