There have already been a few threads about ‘what bibtights’ to get for winter, but it is only just the start of autumn. Admittedly it might be a short one as summer has lasted so long. It was only a week yesterday that I was wearing a short sleeved jersey out, though the rain and temperature drop has come and autumn is surely set in. However I am still wearing my bibshorts with long sleeved jerseys and gillets on top. I am quite happy wearing bibs down to about 6/7C or 8/9 in the wet and it is still generally in the low teens now. If it is wet at this time of the year I might pop on some leg warmers just to protect my legs from getting stung or muddy more than for warmth. However I don’t particularly like the way leg warmers have a thick band at the top that digs into my thigh. I don’t want to be moving to bibtights too soon in the winter. They feel heavy and restricting (as do my Specialized warmers.)
So what I would really like is a pair of long shorts. As simple as that, a pair of normal lycra summer weight shorts that are long; or in other words a pair of bibtights that are light as summer shorts and no thermally roubaix type material. All the bibtights I see are always focused on being warm and waterproof and made from magic materials apparently. Has any one seen the sort of long lightweight bottoms I am describing? No 3/4 Knickers please Hipsters. Cheers.
