First completely flat stage for a while, and the last one too for a while.

Chances of a windy day and echelons, let’s hope it’s not with my small number of sprinters. I’m keeping the big GC guns today on the whole for stages 9, 10 and 11. 12 and 13 I can’t even think about yet but I expect to go into those latter stages with a few transfers up my sleeve as they will be needed next week.

Will Degenkolb have recovered from his crash and his lanterne yesterday? Will Bouhanni stop moaning? Can Matthews live with the best? Can Stuyven and Mondory continue their good results so far? Can Ferrari get up to speed? Will it be Hofland or Martens? Can Boonen be bothered? Is Ciolek going to show? Will Pelucchi be up with the best? Can Hutarovich take a stage? Is Debusschere on song?

So many questions, so much wind.

    Who are you going for?

    Yep, I’ve gone light as
Yep, I’ve gone light as swapping in and out for a stage will cost 20 points at some stage realistically.

    Nairo Alexander Quintana (MOV)
    Christopher Froome (SKY)
    Johan Esteban Chaves (OGE)
    Merhawi Kudus (MTQ)
    Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ)
    Jasper Stuyven (TFR)
    Lluis Guillermo Mas (CJR)
    David Arroyo (CJR)
    Andrea Guardini (AST)

Not a lot of prospects for today – Bouhanni, pelucchi, guardini (?!) plus a couple of gc guys and leftovers. Yesterday’s failed gamble leaves me a bit short. Two pens coming up tomorrow and I’ll be back on track, rest day comes a day late unfortunately. It would help if lotto put the right guy in the break…
