CAAD 10 Build Idea

    After spending some time looking at bikes around £1000-1500 I think I’ve cone to the conclusion that I’d like to do a custom build with the Cannondale CAAD 10. Feel free to leave criticism and other comments.
    Wheels/Tires: Mavic Aksium S with Aksion 25mm £198
    Groupset: Shimano 105 compact double 11-28 cassette £301.99
    Saddle: Fizik Antares (Manganese Rails) £53.99
    Seatpost: Deda RSX 01 Black 27.2mm £16.95
    Handlebars: Dead Zero 100 Black 44cm £46.99
    Stem: Deda Zero 2 Black on Black 100mm £19.15
    H/bar Tape: Lizard Skins DSP Black £23.04
    Total Price: £1460.10
    Total Claimed Weight: 7462g

    That sounds like it’d be a
    That sounds like it’d be a brilliant bike. If I were you, I’d try and throw a wee bit more at the wheels, but Aksiums are still very good.

    The big thing is the BB30 bottom bracket – if you’re getting a cheap 105 groupset online then don’t forget you’ll need an adapter or (ideally) a BB30 chainset. That’s something you may need to put into your budget.

    Oh, and I had an Antares saddle and it didn’t work for me at all. That’s totally personal preference though.
