Three changes for me today after a fairly solid start.

Betancur, Slagter and Salerno out, Swift, Matthews and Ratto in.

I assume everyone is banking on a sprint today?

I really don’t think the gap is big enough to hold off the peloton but you never know where Tony Martin is concerned.

    Orica were really bigging
Orica were really bigging themselves up for today, I think Impey has won stage 2 for the last 2 years so they are going for the hat-trick. So hopefully they’ll convince a few others to chase…

Either the break are keeping the gap low in order to deter the peloton from bringing them back in too early or this break might not last as long as we think.

    and..erm… Tony Martin :H

I don’t see that coming back. Jungels is highest in GC at 4.15 back. Saxo won’t chase, Movistar and OPQ have someone in the break. Are Sky and OGE really going to try and kill themselves to chase down Tony?

Oh dear! it is going to be a close call but I might be heading for a minus score lol! :& :& :&

Decided not to go for Swift
Decided not to go for Swift or Matthews and just go for GC/mountains points in this one, with the exception of Koldo and Polanc.

I did take a 30 point hit last night though.

First break, 2:20 up on the peloton…

    Jan Polanc (LAM)
    Michal Kwiatkowski (OPQ)
    Alejandro Valverde (MOV)
    Alberto Contador (TSB)
    David Arroyo (CJR)
    Matteo Montaguti (ALM)
    Koldo Fernandez (GRS)
    Davide Villella (CAD)
    Jean-Christophe Peraud (ALM)

    I wish!
