FORUM’S SCORUM’s MINI LEAGUE 2014(Spring Classics and Pre-Giro tours)

    Just a few points of business

    1)The League we are using is the one with apostrophe’s named Forum’s Scorum’s with an ID of 76157

    2)As well as the standard competitions we will also have a UCI type ranking system(to be reffered to as FSUCI) based on pts assigned for stages and competitions as follows:

    Grand Tour Overall:35,20,15,10,7,5,4,3,2,1
    Grand Tour Purist Overall:10,6,3,2,1
    Multi Stage Race Overall:10,6,3,2,1
    Multi Stage Race Overall Purist:5,4,3,2,1
    Autumn Classics/Spring Classics/Worlds/Commonwealths/Womens World Cup Overall Competitions(standard only):20,15,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
    Every Stage:3,2,1….ties will be broken by GC position within that competition and then within the game.
    Queen Stage in Giro/TDF/Vuelta:10,8,6,4,2,1

    I’ll try and outline the points available for each competition prior to the start

    3)CUT OFF TIMES

    a)Teams must be entered into the league on stage 1 of a tour/multi stage competition to be considered for the GC in that race.

    b)Teams must be entered by STAGE ONE of the SPRING CLASSICS to be considered for GC in the Overall Competition.

    c)Teams will be considered for stage FSUCI ranking points for individual stages on the stage in which they enter……and FSUCI ranking points for competition GC from the first race that they are entered for AT STAGE ONE.

    4) Below we will keep a record of the individual competition winners and add them to those of 2013

    Well Andynic you held on to
    Well Andynic you held on to 1st and 3rd in the forum’s Scorum’s Spring Classics competition but your purist and standard changed positions…….and it’s now very close at the top between your 2 teams and that of NeilG83.

    Neil won the Strade Bianche in a 4-way photo finish(aka position in the SC competition) from the domestique and Wig_Billy…..and Georgeodio the odd man out kept off the podium.

    All 4 had the same 4 scoring riders.

    I will indeed be sad to leave
    I will indeed be sad to leave Belgium. I’ll just linger a while and watch a few episodes of Salamander, while drinking some Chimay and singing a few verses of “Here’s to you, Vincent Kompany…” I suspect it’s metaphorically, if not topographically, downhill from here.

    Forum’s Scorum’s
    Forum’s Scorum’s Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne threw up the closest race of the year so far with the first three ALL having the same teams…..the order was decided by photograph(or GC in the race as we call it) giving the result as andynic(standard),Johnny2names(purist) and andynic(purist) in that order.

    It also leaves andynic in great shape for the Spring Classsics GC as he has 1st AND third in the competition and he’ll be sad to leave the cobbles of Belgium behind for the white chalky roads of Italy.

    Please note that for the
    Please note that for the Spring Classics Overall competition there will be NO purist competition for FSUCI ranking points…..but purist teams will be eligible for stage and overall points.
    The Top 10 Overall will score 20,15,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
    Stages will be scored as usual 3,2,1 for the first three.

    Some feel it’s the real beginning of the season….The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad did not disappoint…is there a better sight in cycling than ‘The Docker’ opening the taps on his diesel engine in the filthy rain?
    The Forum’s Scorum’s Omloop was won in similarly close fashion by NeilG83 who edged out andynic by 3pts….with SounD-az7 rounding out the podium(sorry JAndrewHill…..countback rules put you 4th).
