    Pratts Bottom, near
    Pratts Bottom, near Orpington.

    I always assumed it was named thus to get one up on other nearby places with silly names such as Locksbottom, Green Street Green and, of course, Badgers Mount.

    Having lived just in the part
    Having lived just in the part of Colchester just outside of fingringhoe I can say from experience that the signposts in the area don’t last that long (pesky students…)
