Evoc Commuter 18L Backpack

Evoc’s Commuter 18L Backpack is very waterproof and spacious, with storage options in spades for transporting all your tech essentials on rides to and from work. It’s very comfortable, looks great and has some great reflective details for night time visibility. There’s also a handy loop at the bottom for attaching a light.

This backpack for commuters has a PVC-free tarpaulin construction and waterproof zips to provide some solid waterproofing. It’s not 100 per cent waterproof, but is certainly good enough for the amount of time most people spend riding on a commute—even those covering longer distances such as our tester Hollis Jones with 12-15 miles each way.

The bottom is covered in Cordura. This is the same stuff used in motorcycle gear to protect against abrasion at high speeds, so it’s not surprising that it is very effective at preventing the backpack from getting worn when on the floor.

Unlike some bags that sit almost flat against your spine, the six flexible cushioned sections on the rear help the Commuter Backpack conform to the shape of your back as it arches, making it feel more natural and comfortable, and there’s plenty of adjustability to alter the height it sits. Off the bike, it also comes with a sturdy handle on the side, so you can carry it like a briefcase.

Inside, it comes with plenty of pockets. The organiser compartment on the front of the bag has lots of sections for storing and separating smaller valuables. There’s also a padded laptop sleeve with an adjustable Velcro strap that keeps your laptop firmly in place, as well as one for iPad’s just in front.

Overall, this is a comfy, roomy bag that allows commuters to neatly organise all the gear and valuables they need.
