SRAM AXS 1x shifter compatible with 2x?

With the way that SRAM's shifters work (individual down/up, both shifts front), if you buy a 1x gruppo, do you just need to buy the front derraileur to change it into a 2x setup?

Yes, the shifters are identical. You'd need a new FD and a chainset. You will probably need to adjust the length of your chain (longer) as well, assuming you'd be going from say 44T and 10-33 to 48/35 and the same cassette.

Thanks, recoveryride - that's what I thought, but called a couple of bike shops to check and they were utterly clueless 🤦‍♂️

Just make sure that your bike can take a FD, I considered converting my 1X cycloX to 2X but I don't think my seat-tube will take a FD clamp (it's not round) and there is no braze on. No sure if there are any options to fit a clamp to a non round tube.
