Sorry if this has been before. Any ‘Smile your on camera’ vests about?  A race style number sign you could just pin on to your favorite jersey would be cool. Reason:  If my GoPro is on my helmet I get 2m space – on my bars and I get close passes still. If not, I may start selling them meyself 🙂      Have been thinking of a fake lightweight GoPro you can mount on your helmet that is lighter for the head as well. Thanks.

You also don’t want to be
You also don’t want to be giving the impression that creating dayglow tabbards or stick on patches with customised printed information on them e.g a personal ID or number plate for cyclists is something that you are willing to tolerate.

I have no issues with wearing hi-viz for the environment type clothing, but tabbards and ID marks are a touchy subject right now.

You need to be careful what

You need to be careful what you display on clothing in an attempt to improve your safety.

One Researcher (Walker I think) found that cyclists wearing a “POLITE” vest designed to look like a “POLICE” garment actually got less road space from motorists, probably because they did not like being deceived.

A journalist writing in the Guardian a few years ago said when he used one of these it seemed to work OK, until someone threw a milk bottle at him as he was riding through a council estate.

Once we get into this area we are moving from advice and information into psychology

Drivers don’t see cameras. I used to have a cheap amazon camera on my rack but it made no difference. They just don’t see them. They seem to spot the pass pixi though

    I used this website – https:/

    I used this website – https://www.hivis.co.uk/hi-visibility.html

You can put whatever text and images you want on a hi-vis vest.

Quality was very good, although check the sizing carefully as it’s much bigger than you might expect.

Personally, I found that wearing it made very little difference to the number of close passes I was getting and I stopped wearing it when the evenings got brighter.

    I’ve just spotted this one
I’ve just spotted this one https://equisafety.com/products/air-waistcoat-bright-yellow-smile-you-are-on-camera

But you could image search for “Smile You’re On Camera”, then if you find a design you like. Contact one of those “we print your design” sites, and have one printed up.
    i.e. a sew/velcro on patch.
