Shimano 105 disc caliper

Ordered a replacement 105 rear disc caliper and the shop sent me a front one. Does anyone know are the actual calipers the same and only the fitting brackets different. The shop has said the Calipers are different but I can't see how. Problem is there are no rears in stock anywhere atm. Can I take my old rear bracket off and fit onto the new front caliper and then fit on the rear of the bike???

I have a set of front and rear 105 calipers with their mounting brackets and pads that I'll be listing for sale soon. I'd be happy to sell them separately, would you be interested in one? They're as-new.

Shimano lists them as separate parts:

But if you look at the exploded diagram linked on the product pages, it suggests that the actual caliper is the same, it's just the mounting kit which changes. I would guess you can do as you say, but I'm an awful mechanic.
