    Morning All,

I purchased the Roval CL50 wheelset last week. I’ve noticed that the freehub isnt fixed and comes off. I have made sure the end caps are secured in (which i thought fixed the moving free hub), but when i put my cassette on, the free hub (with cassette attached), still slides off.

Has anyone had this issue with these wheels?

I don’t think so but I guess it’s subjective. It takes a bit of a tug to get it off just like most hub adapters I have come across. It does however have the advantage of you being able to fix things on the road without tools. Last week I freed a friends freehub that was jammed with threads from a gp5000. Would have needed a few tools with a different design.

    Thanks Stuart, I thought it

Thanks Stuart, I thought it might be the case that the thru axel keeps it secured, but wanted to check!

I upgraded from my fulcrum wheels, and the free hub was securely attached, so just wanted to ensure the Rovals were designed this way – thanks for your reply!

If that is the case, it’s a

If that is the case, it’s a little similar to Hunt wheels. So a word of warning….be careful when removing the wheel. I had a puncture, in France, and removed the wheel, while standing beside a drain. You already know exactly where one end cap ended up….not a good day.

It is designed like this and

It is designed like this and is not a problem. The thu axel or QR holds it all together when on the bike.
