Please can anyone help. I’m climbing back on a road bike after a few years off one. I was racing road and TT up to 2010, but retired. I’m looking at getting a 2014 model SL4 specialized roubaix mainly for comfort. I don’t want that aggressive ride I used to have on my tarmac or soloist. I used to ride a 56cm, was never really comfortable with pains in my upper back and neck. I’m thinking of going up to a 58cm. I’m 6”1 31” inside leg. Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of sizing. Thanks in advance.

I have owned a couple of Specialized road bikes, always in size 56 – I’m 1.81 metres tall (5,11.5) I would say you’re a size 58, given that you are 6’1 and are experiencing lower back and shoulder pain it seems the 56 is too small.
