I wouldn't describe that as a ridiculous ride - maybe unique...

several years ago I came across a guy on facebook called  Ed Pratt, he maybe lives up to his surname but he was unicycling around the world, I think it took him a couple of years, including at least one break of several months when he met a nice girl in kazakstan or something like that.

Absolute nutters - anyone who uses a unicycle to get somewhere  - and the world is a much better place for them

Road.cc has mentioned him previously.  (The video of him cycling with Mark Beaumont is great - difference in leg speed is something).

Think he's got all the usual channels and a site.

More than that, look at how much stuff he (Pratt) was carrying with him?!

Beaumont was just riding an unloaded bike, while a camper and support team carried all his stuff behind.

I used to commute to work on a unicycle, but it was only a couple of miles and part of that was on the Bristol-Bath cycle path. When I moved house, I got put off by having to deal with my journey being mainly on the road (or having to deal with lots of kerbs if using the pavement). That's when I started using a bike instead.

That's a lot of pedalling, unless they've got touring ones!

(Yes, you could add gears also, for a price...)

That geared hub is expensive!

You'd think that a unicycle would be, on average, half the price of a bicycle…
