This weird year we’re having and the amazing racing we’re seeing has brought to my mind the rapha time for change article they published 18months ago about changing the usual race calendar.

I think the idea behind that

I think the idea behind that rapha link is that if you’re a classics racer then lets have all the classics together and not spread over the year, then the grand tours etc.. they’ve also ratified the 2nd tier races.. it looks radical and quite sensible to me.

Worlds is a bit of a weirdo race IMO.. why have it at the end of a season when a lot of riders aren’t in form.

I haven’t looked at the link but I have thought for a while that the calendar needs compressing, let’s have more overlapping dates, the classics and grand tours could take place at the same time and have the world championships early in the season so the winner can ride the rest of the season as the champion. I have never understood the reason for the words to be so late in the season when there is not much racing left for the year.
