A post on the New Forest Heart Cops Facebook page said: "We encountered a number of motorists who had parked on and caused obstructions on grass verges or gateways – which are often needed for emergency vehicle access

I believe it may be in reference to the well worn (and equally discredited) trope about cycle lanes causing delays to emergency services vehicles.

Look, if a road closure bugs you because you want drive on it, why not save time and say so, it's not like that's position that would leave you isolated, is it? On the wrong side of history, but by no means alone.
