Mastering Hydration for Intense Cycling Workouts 🚴‍♂️

After years of searching for the perfect formula, I've discovered that staying hydrated is my secret weapon for pushing my limits during those high-intensity cycling sessions. Here's what I've learned for a 3-hour training or race:

Prep Hydration: I kick things off by downing 500ml to 1L before I even hit the road.

Mid-Ride Refuel: I target 750ml to 1L per hour in the saddle, adjusting as my sweat and surroundings dictate.

Power-Up with Isotonics: I opt for isotonic sports drinks to restore both electrolytes and energy.

Tune into My Body: If I'm feeling parched or drained, I tweak my hydration on the fly.

Trial and Error: We're all different. So, I've experimented with fluid intake during my training to find my sweet spot.

Balanced Sip: Overhydration is a no-go. I keep it steady.

And remember, if you're after more tailored advice, a sports dietitian can be your hydration guru. Get ready to conquer those intense rides like a champ! 🚵‍♀️💧"

Eee - If only Ah'd known this afore Ah went oot on the ride that turned me into a dried husk i' the gutter 'cos it were a bit warm 'n Ah didn't sup at summick wet! Too late now.

I did hear somewhere that you could sup yer owe wee-wee, in a sort of perpetual hydration machine fashion .... but it may just have been a-one o' them Yorkshire jokes. Ben will know.

Mind, Ah might try kicking off (me clothes) before downing 500L, like Ben does. I used to do this about 11:30pm in Lancaster town centre after too many Pelicans in The Water Witch, in me younger days, but they take you off to a cold cell for the night with a copper's helmet over yer bits.

It's sometimes easy to forget to drink during a ride, what I'd like to know is, whether there's a way round this? If only there was something that could be fastened to the top tube, like a "sticker" for example, that could help with "pacing" - in a handy 4-pack with free worldwide shipping?

I certainly hope so. I imagine if someone was to come up with such a product, they'd do very well. Perhaps even well enough to be able to buy an advert which would support a cycling-focussed website. Sadly I've not yet seen such an ad, so I shan't be buying one (or four) of these "pacing" "stickers" yet.

You can buy pacing stickers rather than use, say a white sticky label purchased from a High St. retailer?

Amazing, who knew?
