Found this - Shropshire

In Shrewsbury at the weekend there was a 'mass' ride organised with a focus on encouraging children to ride bikes - the event was called 'Kiddical Shrews'. It looks like over 200 people took part and seems to have been a great success.
All good stuff.
However, one councillor (Richard Marshall) has made the following comments -
"Let’s not forget however important it is to keep the roads safe for all users, in a rural county the car is the most used and most important mode of transport"

Ironically the councillors' 'job' is "Portfolio Holder - Highways and Regulatory Services".

Sadly, Cllr Marshall is a classic reactionary ostrich. From reading his interactions on twitter I get the impression that he's not the sharpest tool in the box. He's a long way out of his depth with the Highways portfolio .

I'm told that Shrewsbury's first ever Kidical Mass event was a huge success, rustled up in less than 3 weeks. Super job everyone! smiley
