Hi I am new here and I have the dubious honnour of being on fair fuel UK’s mailing list and yesterday they sent me an email with a link to a survey that they had setup about cyclists, cycle lanes, LTNs and vehicle taxation and road charging. ah, just seen the news that the Mail wrote something pretty predictable on the back of it.

Just been debating in polite Linkedin terms one of the daily CUK posts – this guy recongnises that the rot (E.g. people not living near work/school) has been setting in for 50 years, he still expects instant results usage wise when a new cycle lane goes in. Oh, and somehow cycle lanes CAUSE pollution.

then the survey Meister went to the pub and we got the above.

The fact that anyone can take this survey and they have no idea on age, gender, ethnicity, etc.and  there’s no independent scrutiny, this is little better than Facebook. 

I assume as a declared Walker and cyclist, I’ll go straight in the bin anyway.

I think I was a mainly a yes on the last one above.

I’ve already made some snarky

I’ve already made some snarky comments about this survey on the Live Blog, so here, I’ll just point out that the very name “Fair Fuel UK” is implying that fuel tax is unfair.

Fuel tax is indeed unfair as it has been kept frozen for a significant period of time (too busy ranting – no time to check the facts) and it doesn’t take into account the external costs of just dumping the burnt products into the air for everyone to breathe in.
