Chains 6800 Vs r8000

    Hi anyone using a 6800 chain on r8000 i have one brand-new for another bike but I need to replace the chain on my daily. Other than Shimano special marketing sauce I can’t really see why it wouldn’t work.

    If your chain has 4,000 miles

    If your chain has 4,000 miles on it and has led a hard life, I’d be amazed if you didn’t also need a new cassette.

    Will give it a go as the

    Will give it a go as the chain is 4000 miles old and hasn’t had the best life gone are the days when i can be bothered getting a tooth brush between the links to remove winter cack.  Will gain a few watts as we đŸ˜‰

    I’d have thought it would be

    I’d have thought it would be fine.  I personally use KMC chains on my bikes – the X11 worked perfectly on both 6800 and on my current r8000 so doubt you’d have any issues with compatibility with your 6800.
