Bosh Power More Range Extender

Ah good news, thinks, I as I read about this range extender now available from Bosch.  So I got in touch and asked them if I could retro fit it to me four year old Cube Cross.  Complicated, says them, as it will only fit new Smart bikes that apparently you control from your smart phone which is a novel way of getting about - hands free anyone?  Anyway it seems that the issue is the cable as the new kit has a slightly different socket that won't fit the old stuff - Apple charging leads spring to mind.  Well why not have a cable with one end compatible to the old bike and the other good for the new Power More?  Then I could go on longer Audaxes, they would sell a load more range extenders and happiness would reign, wouldn't it?  But they want me to buy a new bike I suppose.  If I do it will be from Spesh and I will get the range extender with the bike.  Who wins?
