    Hi

I’ve no doubt this has been posted before but I am looking at getting my first road bike. I’ve got a budget of about £850 which is a little flexible but need pedals, shoes etc.

I’ve test ridden a few but they all seem similar in feel but managed to get down to 2 options :-

    Felt F85 2013 £800
    Trek 1.5 C H2 2013 £850

To add to this I’ve also seen an offer on Janis Ventura Race at £850!

Any thoughts on which to go for? Or any others I can look at. Im thinking id prefer Tiagra gearing as a minimum.

    Look forward to your advices

I got my first roadie a few months back and it is excellent. i opted for the Cannondale CAAD8. It only has sora but I think you could get the spec up with the rest of your money. I got it for £700 that included £50 free kit from Evans.

Thanks for that info, I’m leaning towards the trek. I’ve used a trek mountain bike previously so know the quality. Heard great things about the CAAD 8 & BMC but stretching the budget.

I like the sound of the Boardman Uve seen – where was that?
