Finished well down in the nationals, now in the ladies Giro she lost over a minute in the 7km TT and was over 27mins down in todays stage.
That’s not the kind of form expected to help the team to gold, is it?

    Just like any other Athlete
Just like any other Athlete she is going through a bad spot; and just digging in to get through it JMO of-course.

She could see another gold in the Olympics? providing she finds her form and fitness

    Good point in theory.

    Good point in theory.
I was aware of the other placings in yesterdays stage but she hasn’t had good legs all season from what I can see and you need some form to be able to use the other strengths.
Hope your right, and they ride as a team .

Cooke makes a better Plan B
Cooke makes a better Plan B than any of the others who were available, she’s got great race craft and if GB needs her to she can get into a break and stay away. If Laws had been picked it would have been purely as a domestique, Cooke gives the team options.

Also, yesterday’s stage was a huge mountain stage, as far as I know there are no Cat 1 climbs on the Olympics course. Just comparing a random stage is pointless. If you check the full listing you’ll see that Cooke finished in the same time as Armistead. You’re not calling for Armistead to be dropped too are you?

    I agree.
    Based on the usual

    I agree.
Based on the usual BC criteria, I cant see how she got picked. But of course I am on the outside looking in so its only my opinion.
    Time will tell.

No, it isn’t. I think Sharon
No, it isn’t. I think Sharon Laws should have her place on the Olympic team. British Cycling say they decide riders purely on merit, but I think they have chosen Nicole based on her performance in previous years.
