Old/New Campagnolo Daytona Rear Derailleur 9 Speed Short Cage views ?

Being an oldi.... Still on 9 speed on all my fleet with a mix of veloce/Mirage + xenon I am just about to build a new bike (as if I need one :D ) I have new xenon shifters and a de-badged veloce front changer and ultra torque Chainset all 9 speed (compatible) .. Have seen for sale a 9 speed short Daytona rear derailleur , new old stock apparently the geometry of the Daytona rear derailleur means that the 13-29 combination can be used without having to fit a longer cage. Has anyone used a daytona with a 27-29 TOP Cog ? :/ (I have a new miche 13-28 cassette in the draw which could be used in the setup)
