Help needed

I’m still fairly new to road cycling and learning as I go along and in need of some advice.

I have a Trek 1.2 and have done about 800 miles on it since new, I have recently developed a knocking noise from the rear wheel when my weight is over the saddle (it’s not coming from the saddle I have checked this). If I lean forward or lift the bike and spin the wheel the noise is not there??

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Mark

Hi Mark - I dont know if this will help but i had a similar problem with my new Bianchi, the noise only occured when there was weight on the bike (when you lifted the rear wheel off the ground and spun it no noise) really started to drive me mad!! Took it back to the shop and made the guy ride it - he confirmed it was loose spokes!!!
After tightening. - no problem
Also check (if you have one fitted) the plastic spoke protector is not catching on the lower gearing
Hope this helps

Hi, thank you so much for the advice, I had one loose spoke that was causing my trouble, a few turns and the noise has gone!
