I have the foray (pre Mips model) . I love it, it fits my head better than the more expensive helmets I tried on, doesn't have excess bulk pretty light and good ventilation. So much better than my old sworks helmet. Try helmets on though, different models from the same brand fit differently.
I think I paid £30 which makes the foray an amazing buy for me. Try one on.
I: replaced my Foray with a Foray MIPS recently and still need to get the MIPS sorted properly. I need to cut the excess strap off and deal with the Y buckle on one side. The MIPS helmet has a buckle whereas the non-MIPS had a clip type arrangement so the straps stayed as you set them, I've had to mess with the front/rear straps far too often since I started wearing the helmet 10 days ago.
I had a bad crash resently and this helmet saved my head. There is quite a lot of damage, deformed outer shell, compressed EPS and cracked EPS but my head is intact. Other parts of me hurt. I had the Foray with MIPS, can't recommend it enough.
I use these as they fit my head perfectly. First one I was on my CX bike - bounced off a root, caught knuckle on a branch and hit helmet above left eye on a tree trunk. The helmet was slightly dented but stayed in one piece and I hardly felt the impact, so in that case it saved me a mashed eyebrow at the least.
For positives there is a good amount of fit adjustment on height and circumference of the head strap bit.
For your point about a hot head, it does not seem to have as much airflow across the head as the Bell I had before but it isn't that bad. I have worn it in 30 degree+ heat out in Spain on the road and never really felt my head was unnecessarily hot. For lower speed stuff off-road (CX / XC MTB) I have found it pretty warm, but not sure if anything else would be much better.
Another slight negative is the straps do not tend to sit very flat when first buying and I find it takes a lot of faff to setup the straps around the ear comfortably. That said I did buy another after denting the first so either I quite like it or am too lazy to try others on (or both?).
