Can't see Garmin 820 on my computer

I am trying to upload some routes to my new Garmin from my computer. I have already done this once but now that I am on holiday it doesn't seem to visable as a drive on my computer when I plug it in, does anyone have any suggestions of how to fix or of another way to transfer routes. I have used the IQ app Strava routes on the Garmin today but it was a bit hit and miss

Do you have a uSD card reader? I find that method of copying to NewFiles more reliable than connecting to the device itself.

My new 820 has to be switched off before I plug it in or the pc doesn't recognise it.

Do you have a smart phone? You can transfer a route via Bluetooth. I do this on my 810 and my wife’s 820. You can also do it from an IPad if you have one.

Wrong cable - needs a data transfer cable
Try another usb port
Reboot
