As the title suggests I’m after opinions on the XLA Rival!

Its for my son, he races the Scottish CX series, ideally I would rather get him the carbon frame but its £1300 so a bit more than I want to spend, especially as he will need a new XC bike very soon too so my budget for a CX is around £1000.
I’ve been a tad disappointed in what I can get for that too so any suggestions of something else would be good – basic spec I’m after – discs (not mechanical) and 1x set up ideally.
He has  Planet X carbon road bike that we’ve been really impressed by but I’ve heard some horror stories on their CX bikes…so either fill me with confidence or put me off for life 🙂

I had a Dirty Disco for a

I had a Dirty Disco for a while – lovely bike, no issues in terms of build quality and I’m a heavy rider. Only sold it because I couldn’t get used to SRAM shifting and the monumentally crap front mechs, which won’t be an issue on a 1x build.

DD was the relaxed version of the XL range
