Crankset that disengages for resting position

Over the weekend, I saw a cyclist with a crankset capable of disengaging from the stanard pedaling position with cranks facing opposite directions to a parallel position whereby the rider could rest their legs next to each other. It’s seemed pretty simple for him to switch between the two positions.

What is this called and how do I get one?

    Thanks for your insights! I

Thanks for your insights! I was unclear about the exactly functionality of the PowerCranks until I watched the video about the product. It’s probably not for me. It would be cool if it worked the way I described.

Still a bit marmite in some triathlete circles. The slowtwitch forum has a permanent thread going between aficionados and naysayers.

I remember some such thing from waay back, when I were but a lad.

It was mostly called, at least by the more experienced and cynical club members, The Completely Unnecessary and Frivolous Gadget.

And then it seemed to disappear.
