Mine should arrive on saturday or thursday at worst, size 53 and Ultegra... I hope the weight will not be 8,8 km, that's quite a lot
Just finished adding a light sprinkling of upgrades to Mrs Srchar's Gan Disk, namely swapping out the Tiagra cable disc brakes for 405 hydraulics, putting the correct length stem on it and swapping over the SMP saddle from her CAAD8. With RX05s on a 54 frame the weight is... 8.8kg. Losing 500g from the wheels would be trivial, however - and the saddle's not exactly a featherweight.
Hello!!
I went to showroom and he weighted a Gan with my correct size, it was around 7,9 kg. According to him, the same bike with disc brakes would weight around 8,2 or 8,3 kg at worst. Fair weight for a mid level road bike with disc brakes.
I'm already thinking about some new nice light carbon wheels
I've just bought Mrs Srchar a Gan Disk. Collecting on Monday, so I'll stick it on the scales and let you know.
Sssh... you will create expectations that others cannot sustain.
Sounds good- its a great bike. There is scope to improve it further with different wheels.
I think I'm going to buy the Gan S, slightly lighter than the Gan and way lighter than the Gan Disk. Apparently this one with Ultegra and Disc brakes weight almost 9 kg, that's quite a lot.
Can't help with the weights exactly, but I've rented a Gan for a week in Mallorca and it was brilliant! It did not feel heavy, similar to my Ultegra equipped Argon18 Nitrogen. It did not have an Ultegra chainset though, and some fairly basic Shimano wheels IIRC.
A quick search on the net found this site https://www.wrenchscience.com/road/frames/Pinarello/GAN+S+Ultegra+Bike/2..., a Gan S Ultegra is apparently 7.9kg, but your best bet would be to ask a dealer to weigh one for you as the spec may differ... the Bike Rooms in london had a few in stock.
